My Journey
What does a “sense of adventure” mean to me?
The word “adventure” evokes an emotional and physical response that challenges me do something outside of my comfort zone. In doing so, the process of learning this “something new" gives me unbridled joy, peace and happiness.
Fueled by this sense of adventure, I bought my first point and shoot camera in 2009 and delved into the world of photography. My initial photography interests involved cityscapes and streets. Next came crop sensor DSLRs in 2011 and then the transition to full frame mirrorless in 2016.
In 2016 I traveled to four continents in a year, hiking and backpacking. I felt a rush as I stood before the giant glaciers of Torres Del Paine in Chile, the rolling hills of Switzerland, the dreary seaside cliffs of the Faroe Islands and finally the beautiful desert of the southwest. While photographing in these places, I realized these places gave me a sense of peace and calm that I cherished,. In 2019, the “sense of adventure” crept in again in the form of chasing storms and tornadoes in the Great Plains. Since then, I have been chasing elusive tornadoes, lightning and beautiful supercell structures with my friends in the spring and summer times. I reside in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where you can find me hiking, spending time outdoors and always trying to capture better compositions. As I continue to refine my photography style, I look forward to creating art amidst all the adventures to come.
Thank you for following my story.
